Create a project

Overview

Use this procedure to create an AI Security project. From the Projects view, you can choose one of the following options:

• Guardrails
• Red Team

Each choice opens its own project setup screen. Alternatively, you can create a project with the projects endpoint.

Why this matters

Projects define the data and access boundary in AI Security.

• In Guardrails, projects already segment data by project.
• In Red Team, data visibility is being aligned to a project model so access can be scoped by project instead of across the entire organization.

This gives both products the same core concept of a project boundary, while keeping Guardrails and Red Team project setup as separate flows.

Before you begin

Before you begin, make sure you have:

• Access to the AI Security UI
• Permissions to create projects

Create a standard project

1. Log in to the AI Security UI.
2. Select Projects.
3. Select Create.
4. In the pop-up window, choose one project path:
   • Guardrails
   • Red Team

Guardrails project setup

1. Select Guardrails in the pop-up window.
2. In Guardrails project setup, complete the fields:
   • Project name
   • Select project type (for example, Agentic, App, Bot, or Chat)
   • Choose a default model for the project
   • Assign project admins
3. Select Create.

Red Team project setup

1. Select Red Team in the pop-up window.
2. In Red team project setup, complete the fields:
   • Project name
   • Assign project admins
3. Select Create.

Share reports with Red Team projects

You can now share reports with Red Team projects.

1. In the UI, select AI Red Team > Reports.
2. Select the report of your choice.
3. Select the ellipsis (three-dot) menu, and select Project Access
4. In the window that appears, you can:
   • Allow access to all current and future Red Team projects
   • Limit access to specific existing Red Team projects
